Baristas Battle in Hampton Coffee’s First Ever Latte Art Competition

Baristas Battle in Hampton Coffee’s First Ever Latte Art Competition

Posted on March 28, 2018 to

With the hopes of igniting a passion for all things coffee in The Hamptons, locally-owned and operated Hampton Coffee Company hosted a Latte Art Throwdown just like the ones held regularly in New York City.  The Throwdown was held recently at their Coffee Experience Store in Southampton.

The competition had five rounds and attracted Baristas from as far away as Queens.  Each round consisted of two Baristas hand steaming latte milk and pouring latte art of their choice, with one being eliminated each time.  Winners were chosen by three local judges.  Molly from Monbrewcha and two locals Vinny and Joe. “This is my passion. I really wanted to shine a light on the intricacies of latte pouring and latte art, with our staff and our customers” said Hampton Coffee Company Manager, Felix Torres, who organized the event.

The competition was catered by Hampton Coffee’s own full-service restaurant in Water Mill.  The menu included a variety of sliders and homemade chips, salsa and guacamole.  Guests also enjoyed samples of Montauk Brewing Co. Beer and Monbrewcha.  Montauk Brewing Co. Beer is also served on tap at Hampton Coffee’s full-service restaurant in Water Mill and Monbrewcha, a line of locally made Kombuchas, is now offered at all of the company’s local cafés!
