CNBC's The Profit Chooses Hampton Coffee

When mega-businessman and host of the hit CNBC show “The Profit” calls, you answer.  And although Marcus Lemonis already owns a coffee roasting company on the West Coast and in Chicago, for his latest partnership with Corey’s NYC Bagel Deli, he wanted authentic New York roasted coffee to complement their famous bagels and spreads.  Already a Fan of Hampton Coffee Company for several years now, his first call was to their local family-owned Coffee Roastery in Southampton.  And the rest of the story the viewing audience got to see in the Season 6 series premiere this month.

But what only Hampton Coffee Company staff and a few Fans knew was that all the work began much earlier this year when Marcus and the stars of the episode, Corey and Laurie Kaplan, the owners of the bagel-deli chain, flew out from Chicago to visit the Hampton Coffee Crew at the Roastery.  Marcus, Corey, and Laurie spent an afternoon learning about how Hampton Coffee creates great coffee, how to implement a top-notch coffee program in their stores, and tasted coffee with the Roastmaster to create Corey Loves Laurie Blend, their exclusive blend that Marcus asked Hampton Coffee to create for Corey’s NYC Bagel Deli and that was featured prominently on the broadcast.

In the episode you see a handful of scenes shot at Hampton Coffee’s Roastery and if you look closely at one of the scenes where Marcus and Corey are talking outside, you’ll notice it’s out front of Hampton Coffee’s Coffee Experience Store, which is in front of the Roastery building.

After the Roastery visit, the work continued on-site at Corey’s NYC Bagel Deli in Chicago.  A team from Hampton Coffee traveled from Southampton to Chicago overnight to deliver and install professional coffee equipment, coffee beans, and packages of Corey Loves Laurie Blend.  For three days Hampton Coffee trained Corey’s staff on the coffee equipment and helped serve customers on opening day before heading home.

“We were all big Fans of Marcus Lemonis and ‘The Profit’ show already, so we were just star-struck to be hosting him, his partners, and the CNBC Crew at our Roastery,” said company co-owner Jason Belkin.  “We really had such a fun time.  They loved learning about our small-batch hand-roasted coffee, they sampled our homemade food, it was a great experience.  And then being a part of the business’s transformation in Chicago and finally watching ourselves and our company on CNBC was just icing on the cake.”

For a limited time, Hampton Coffee Company is selling the exclusive Corey’s NYC Bagel Deli Corey Loves Laurie Blend coffee beans, as seen on the episode of The Profit, on its website, hamptoncoffeecompany.com.  For each bag sold, 20% of the profits will be donated to Corri-Angel Kaplan and the fight against Polysystic Kidney Disease.
