One of our favorite days of the year is September 29 because it’s National Coffee Day of course! To celebrate the holiday this year, Hampton Coffee Company’s App Users and Rewards Members were treated to free coffee all day as a special treat.
We also led a talk all about coffee at the Center Moriches Library. Our Roastmaster Oscar and company co-owner Jason talked to the local community about the process of how we select our beans and how Oscar turns them into our delicious coffee enjoyed across the East End and beyond at our Roastery in Southampton. Local coffee fans enjoyed sampling various varieties of Hampton Coffee in addition to some freshly baked snacks from our Center Moriches café.
The event was especially important to Roastmaster Oscar because he and his family live right in town in Center Moriches so it was great seeing the large turn-out at the Library Event. “I always enjoy talking about coffee,” said Oscar. “Coffee is my passion. So many hands touch the coffee before it ends up in your cup. It is such a special thing. It gives me so much pride to know how much Hampton Coffee Company means to so many people.”
Our coffee really is special. When selecting the raw coffee beans to roast, our Roasting Department always considers our farmer-partners we buy from, our Guests, and the environment. For more than 27 years now, HCC has been roasting a wide variety of quality organic, single origin and direct trade coffee. We believe in the ethical sourcing of coffee beans to provide our Guests with top-quality coffee as well as respecting the farms and families of those that produce the coffee. In fact, more than 60% of the coffee we roast now comes to us through Direct Trade relationships. This means we actually know the farmers who are growing our coffee and we pay them high above the market cost so that they can support their farms and families properly.
Although National Coffee Day may be over, you can support local coffee companies like Hampton Coffee Company year-round in person and by shopping at online shops like ours at hamptoncoffeecompany.com. When you shop local, 100% of the profits stay in the local community.
